Jockeys injured at Delaware Park, that are transported via ambulance, are taken to the Christiana Care Hospital Emergency Room, located directly across from the Delaware Park Route 4 entrance (Ogletown-Stanton Road).

If you are not severely injured and do not require transportation via ambulance, consider using the fully staffed GoHealth Urgent Caret as opposed to Christiana Care Hospital.  The GoHealth Urgent Caret wait time is normally less than 15 minutes. Christiana Care Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center that services 140,000 to 165,000 patients annually in their emergency room, making Christiana one of the busiest emergency rooms in the USA. The waiting treatment time for non-life threatening injuries often exceeds 5 hours.

The GoHealth Urgent Care is located directly across from Christiana Care Hospital on Hygeia Drive and is part of the Christiana Care Health System. They provide medical care for sports injuries, cuts/lacerations, sprains/strains, flu-like symptoms, work related injuries, minor burns, physical examinations, etc., and can easily facilitate admittance to the Christiana Hospital when necessary.

If you are injured at Delaware Park while performing the duties of a jockey, please make sure you have an accident report filled out by an EMT either at the ambulance or in the first aid room on the front-side of the grandstand. An accident report should be completed regardless if you need immediate medical attention or not.

ON-TRACK MEDICALS BILLS WILL NOT BE PAID WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT REPORT.
